Actress Demi Moore is well-known for her impressive filmography. The actress rose to fame in the 1980s and became a true icon of that era, but that doesn’t mean Moore didn’t star in any flop films. In the mid-1990s, Moore agreed to work in Andrew Bergman’s 1996 movie,Striptease.

In the 1980s, actressDemi Moorebecame a worldwide sensation thanks to her strong on-screen presence, charming persona, and remarkable acting abilities. Her 1990 movieGhost, was a massive hit, bringing in $500 million worldwide on a budget of just $22 million.
At the peak of her career, Moore took a $12 million salary and agreed to star in Andrew Bergman’s 1996 movie,Striptease, not knowing that it was one of the worst decisions of her life. Despite her iconic performance as Erin Grant, the film was a massive failure.

Demi Moore was called the “box office poison“
On a budget of $50 million, the film grossed $113 million worldwide. It was decimated by the critics, leading to six wins at the Golden Raspberry Awards. Moore was the one who suffered the most as people labeled her as a “box office poison.” Disney Studios even questioned her place in 1997’sG.I. Janedue to her bad reputation. At the time, a senior executive at Disney claimed (viaDaily Telegraph),
“We don’t know what to do. People just don’t want to see her. We would have to drag them kicking and screaming to see this movie.”
G.I. Janewas a flop as well and Moore knew that this was the end of her career. She remained out of the spotlight for quite some time, then went on to bag small roles in many movies. Despite being one of the most recognizable and respected actresses in the industry at one point, one film completely ruined her career.
