In the comic books, Superman fights to uphold the law with or without his glasses on. Superman has always been a guardian of the law, using the press to reach out to people who have been wronged. Humans will always fear what they do not understand. They will certainly be scared of a guy who can fly through space, shoot lasers from his eyes, and bench-press a mountain with his pinky finger. Henry Cavill’s Superman only had good intentions in mind but the people had a hard time believing in him. That is something the comic books have been showing us for a long time.
