James Gunn, the newly-appointed co-CEO of DC Studios, has earned an excellent reputation as a writer and director. He was the man behind Marvel Studios’ fan-favoriteGuardians of the Galaxyfranchise. However, the renowned filmmaker has stressed that his much-anticipated DC project,Superman: Legacy, will offer a different cinematic experience.
During an interview with Rolling Stones, Gunn opened up about the stylistic difference between his upcoming venture with DC Studios and his contributions to the Marvel Cinematic universe.

How Did James Gunn Take Backlash On Henry Cavill’s Exit From DCU
James Gunnreceived a tremendous amount of hate following the ousting ofHenry Cavillfrom the role of Superman in the DCU. The filmmaker fired back at the people who expressed disappointment in his decision. Gunn continued his streak of replying negatively to fans on social media.
“F*** your cat dude. You pissed off an entire franchise worth of fans. Nobody gives a rats ass about your cat. #Cavilisclark,”a fan wrote.Gunn’s responded by saying, “It’d be great if at the very least you knew how to spell an actor’s name if you were going to be so outraged.”
Since taking up the role at Warner Bros., Gunn has been very outspoken, frequently reacting negatively to fans online. He has even ridiculed reports about him having negative feelings toward Henry Cavill.

James Gunn has already said that his upcoming venture with DC will take a fresh approach. He also stated that the film would have a different ambiance than theGuardians of the Galaxyfranchise.
“I learned so much from making these [Guardians] movies,”Gunn said. “But it’s not like Superman is going to have exactly the same vibe as a Guardians movie. It’s actually quite different.”
While Gunn is vocal about the distinctive approach for the film, he has spilled no beans regarding the film’s storyline. It’s confirmed that a new actor will take over the role of Superman. However, Gunn and Safran have revealed that the story will not focus on Superman’s origin but will delve into his younger years on Earth.

Will James Gunn Be Able To Impress DC fans?
James Gunn can’t go anywhere without attracting internet trolls who hurl insults for whatever he does. That said, Gunn faces a formidable challenge with his latest plan for the DCU. Not only he needs to impress DC loyals with his plans, but he also needs to bring back the fans who lost interest during the Snyder era of the DCU.
Ever since he took the role as a studio executive, Gunn has been subjected to a barrage of attacks from online trolls. Almost from the beginning, a group of fans has called the studio to“#FireJamesGunn.”
