Christopher Nolan has made some of the biggest movies of all time and each and every one of them has got a massive amount of praise. FromOppenheimerandDunkirktoThe Dark Knighttrilogy; he has never limited himself to the norms of moviemaking. His unique skills have created a fanbase for him that is so great that the thought that goes into watching his movies is something fans are willing to research.

There had even been memes about fans educating themselves in Physics before going to watchOppenheimer, something that may not be an over-exaggeration seeing how well-researched each and every movie of his is. When it comes to the movies that explore outer space,Interstellarstands out more than others. However, an irony that stood out was how a nation managed to launch a Lunar Spacecraft with just a little more than half its budget.

Chandrayaan 3’s Budget was Nothing Compared to Christopher Nolan’sInterstellar
India recently launched Chandrayaan 3, a Lunar Spacecraft targetted to land on the south pole of the moon. Although their previous attempt with Chandrayaan 2 had been an unfortunate fail, the country made history after ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) became the first ever to do so thanks to Chandrayaan 3. The south pole of the moon is said to have somewhat habitable circumstances considering it has a frozen water source, a source for oxygen, and is even said to have fuel.
The rover will be there for two weeks analyzing and experimenting with mineral compositions of the Lunar surface and other such spectrometer analyses. Chandrayaan 3 is two meters in height with a mass of 3747.86 lbs. What is even more surprising is that to create such a successful spacecraft, India only used resources worth $74.5 Million, which is barely half of what it took to makeChristopher Nolan’sInterstellarwhich had a budget of $165 Million.

India was Not The Only Country to Try
Before India’s successful attempt at launching the spacecraft, Russia also made an attempt at doing the same. Luna 25 was a spacecraft that failed to land on the moon after it unfortunately crashed on 19th August 2023. Unlike the rather small budget that India had, Russia’s budget for its spacecraft was $219 Million which is much higher than Christopher Nolan’sInterstellar.
Much like Chandrayaan 3, it was also destined to land on the south pole of the moon but did not. Chandrayaan 2 also had the same goal but it was a failed mission. However, on 23rd August 2023 completely changed that, making India the first country to touch the south pole of the moon.
