Being an important and memorable part of theRockyfranchise, Burt Young was visibly disappointed withSylvester Stallone‘s attempt atRocky V(1990).The movie not only became a sore spot for Stallone but also for his fans. And now even Young seemed disappointed with the film.
Playing the role of Paulie in the feature film, Burt Young was upset withRocky Vfor betraying his character. Young particularly disapproved of the way Sylvester Stallone dealt with the character’s mental state. According toTotally Rocky, Stallone not only mishandled Paulie but also ignored Young’s suggestions for improvements.

“So, for a short while, we didn’t talk. But now he has this reality fight show (Mark Burnett’s “The Contender”), so they asked me if I would show up, you know? And I was pleased to hug him and forget the time lost.” Young stated.
Not just Burt Young, but even Sylvester Stallone was disappointed with the new direction of the film. Disappointing loyal fans withRocky Vwas partly a reason why Stallone came up with the sixth installment in 2006.
