The infamous Johnny Depp-Amber Heard trial is taking some explosive twists and turns. And many famous celebrities have come forward to show their support for either side. Some support Johnny Depp, calling him a victim of a well calculated attempt at character assassination.
Other celebs have come forth to show their solidarity with Amber Heard, who they say represents the plight of women waging their battles against powerful men. Which team are you on?
Team Johnny Depp: Paul Bettany
The WandaVision starhas come forward to show his support for Johnny Depp amidst the entire Johnny Depp Amber Heard fiasco. Bettany has even gone so far as to show his vocal support for the Pirates of the Caribbean actor while Amber Heard’s attorneys do their best to character assassinate Depp.
The WandaVision star recently testified in court in Johnny Depp’s favor. He helped refute some claims regarding some expletive text messages between the two actors, where the subject of discussion was Amber Heard’s “corpse.” Bettany hadtweeted this about Deppbefore the trial:
“Known Johnny Depp for years and through several relationships. He’s the sweetest, kindest, gentlest man that I’ve ever known. Just saying.”
Team Amber Heard: Amanda de Cadenet
A famous British talk show host, Amanda de Cadenet is not actively involved in the trial. But she did show her show of support and solidarity by retweeting several message posts on Frida and Saturday.
The British celebrity has been a vocal online supporter of Amber Heard from day one of the entire scandal. After allegations of domestic abuse in the Depp-Heard marriage first surfaced, de Cadenetshared a pictureof her, model turned actor Amber Valletta, and Heard during Cadenet’s May 23 birthday party.
Team Johnny Depp: Javier Bardem
Oscar winning actor Javier Bardemhas made quite a name for himself in Hollywood. From No Country For Old Men to Skyfall, he has had quite a distinguished film career. Bardem stood by Johnny Depp when Heard threw heinous allegations his way.Here are his exact words:
“I love Johnny because he is a good human being, trapped in the lies and manipulations of toxic beings and yet smiling and loving us all in spite of it. How? Through his music, through his acting, through his silence. This means a lot. Thank you, Johnny. Millions of others like me love you deeply.”
Team Amber Heard: James Franco
The Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy actoris amongst a list of potential witnesses in favor of Heard’s side for the trial. If summoned, he is liable to appear via video link. Amber Heard and James Franco go way back. There were rumors that Heard cheated on Depp with Franco, all the while her marriage was supposedly going strong.
It is now in the grapevine thatDepp gets visibly upset when James Franco is mentioned. The very mention of Franco’s name would cause violent fights between Heard and Depp in the past.
Team Johnny Depp: Sia
The award winning musician is also on team Johnny Depp’s side. And she is doing her part to make the general public know where the truth could be. Sia was not always in Depp’s favor. But she, like the rest of us, heard those infamous tape recordings that were presented to court in a previous trial and that helped her decide. Here is whatshe tweetedon the issue:
“Just showing my public support for Johnny Depp. I mean, I’d love him to get clean and stop with the jewelry, but he is clearly the victim after hearing those tapes.”
Team Amber Heard: Elon Musk
His deep pockets and connections to many known celebrities of Hollywood has made her one of the most instantly recognizable faces in show business. Elon Musk is one of Heard’s old flames, having dated the Aquaman star from somewhere between 2016 and 2018.
Elon is listed as a potential witness for the case in Heard’s favor. His name has already come up in a previous libel lawsuit case that Depp filed againstThe Sun, a UK tabloid that called him “wife beater.”
