Over ten years have passed since Chris Hemsworth took on the role of Thor in Marvel films. His most recent appearance inThor: Love and Thunderleft the possibility of more adventures in the works. Thus, he was asked about his intentions to pick up Thor’s hammer once again whenEWinterviewed the Australian actor for hisExtraction 2cover story. The actor said he has“no idea”,while further adding:
“I’ve got to be careful how I word that because I have no idea what’s happening in the next phase. There’s always conversations, like withExtraction. Before anything is official, people are throwing around ideas. But officially, I don’t know.”

Thor is also the only Marvel character to have four solo films. Although Hemsworth said he enjoys playing the part, he wants to keep experimenting with genre and style if he makes anotherThormovie. Stated differently, he wanted to keep it “a little unpredictable.”
“I don’t want to continue to do it until people are so exhausted that they roll their eyes when they see me come on the screen as that character. If an audience wants to see it, and if there’s something that we believe is exciting and fun, then great. I’ve loved being able to reinvent that character a few times. I don’t have the answer yet, but I would love to try and [figure out] how we can do that again and keep it a little unpredictable.”
The amount of screen time Hemsworth has in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is evidence of his exceptional abilities and dedication to the role of Thor.
Hemsworth will next be seen in the post-apocalyptic action-adventure filmFuriosa: A Mad Max Saga, which George Miller co-produced and directed. It is the fifth movie in theMad Maxseries and both a prequel and a spin-off ofMad Max: Fury Road(2015).
