The eagerly awaitedAquaman 2is set to hit the theaters on July 24, 2025. Fans have been counting down the days till the release ofAquaman 2. The James Wan-directed blockbuster’s follow-up will be the final chapter in the original DC Extended Universe before James Gunn and Peter Safran take over and reboot the chronology withSuperman: Legacy.

No version of Batman will make an appearance in theAquamansequel. Therefore, there is very little chance that Snyder Verse will also be referenced in any future DC projects. It only makes sense forAquamanto have an entirely independent sequel that doesn’t depend on the larger franchise as there is no room for future DCEU sequels or crossovers.

“The tricky thing early on was not knowing whether Aquaman would come out first or come out after [The Flash]. So, we just had to be prepared. At the end of the day, the best thing I would say about this movie is that it is not connected in any way to any of those films. That’s the bottom line.”
As James Wan confirmed hisAquamanmovies are separate and exist in their own universe, so that means there will be no SnyderVerse reference as well.

Michael Keatonwas initially going to reprise Batman inAquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Following the completion of the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, it became clear that Affleck would take up Keaton’s role as Bruce Wayne. However, as per an industry scoop, both Bruce Wayne/Batman cameos are not there in the upcoming film.
Apologies for the poor choice of words!
BOTH Bruce Wayne/Batman cameos are still REMOVED for GOOD from#AquamanAndTheLostKingdom. Nothing has changed since the test screenings. Do NOT expect to see any overarching connections to the DCEU at large.https://t.co/nKdOmtK7vo
