Alan Wake 2has been out for all gamers to play since the game was released two days back on the 27th of October. The game has been one of the most-awaited games of the second half of the year along withMarvel’s Spider-Man 2by Insomniac Games and even more so since the first game was about 13 years back. Alan Wake’s story continues from where the first game ended, with Wake still trapped in the Dark Place.

Back in 2021, Remedy’s Creative Director Sam Lake had promised a visual treat whenAlan Wake 2eventually came out. Lake made a bold and exciting claim back then, thatAlan Wake 2will be the “best-looking, most beautiful” game to have come out of Remedy. Now thatAlan Wake 2is already out for all gamers to experience, the game is found to have delivered big-time on the promise.
Gamers have beenpostingon X (formerly Twitter), sharing their gameplay clips, claiming how stunned they have felt playing the game. It’s not just the visuals alone either, as the in-game transitions coupled with instant loading have got the gamers in awe of the game already.

While one gamer calledAlan Wake 2a game that truly looks like a PlayStation 5 game visually, as“the game looks amazing”, another userpostedhow it feltlike a“high-budget Netflix TV show but as a video game.“, and another user @GhostOfSparta1_ who praised the game’s scenery, the visuals, and the story as well.

Gamers on both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles have been sharing gameplay clips about just how photorealistic the game looks. Xbox Series X consoles in particular support mesh shaders, while PlayStation 5 consoles don’t, making the games look a lot better on the Series X consoles.
Alan Wake 2revolves around the fictional Dark Place and the reality with Saga Anderson in the real world, being one of the playable characters apart from Alan Wake, who’s trapped in the Dark Place, trying to rewrite the story to escape. One of the gamers named Samie Foster has posted about how the game looks like a creepy episode ofThe X-Filesat the beginning of the game, where players begin by playing as Saga Anderson.
Remedy Reassured Gamers About Optimization and System Requirements
Prior to the release of the long-awaited sequel, Remedy had reassured console gamers about how the game will be optimized for performance and visuals, with support included for Ray-tracing and HDR as well.
The Communications Director at Remedy hadpostedon X stating how gamers on consoles need not worry about the performance and should instead relax and savor the game once it’s out. Puha revealed how extensive efforts were taken to ensure the game performs smoothly and seamlessly on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
Puha also addressed PC gamers as he revealed how the studio played it safe about the PC settings while trying to “underpromise, overdeliver”. With NVIDIA’s 2070 or AMD’s Radeon 6600 listed under the game’s minimum requirements, a lot many gamers were worried about missing out on experiencing the long-awaited sequel.
However, Puha’s post, which was followed up by another post where he mentioned the studio had played it safe with the game’s performance as well, reassured players with low-end GPUs. Digital Trends found the game to be playable at acceptable frame rates running on PCs with low-end GPUs as well.
All this reveals is thatAlan Wake 2is very well optimized on the consoles and on PCs, delivering solid gameplay all around, proving that the 13-year wait was well worth it.
