With theNod-Krai updatesapproaching and the vast world of Teyvat getting another major expansion, HoYoverse is aiming for higher graphical performance, and the limiting nature of PlayStation 4’s hardware may pose a challenge. To that end, the developer has announced that they will be removing Genshin Impact from the PlayStation Store for PS4 soon, followed by permanently ending update support for it. While the player accounts will remain as it is and the changes will not affect player progress in any way, you will have to shift to another device to continue your journey in the RPG.

The developer will carry out the title’s discontinuation in three phases, and here’s what each of them will entail:
Game Removal
The first phase will be the game’s removal from the PlayStation Store, preventing you from downloading and installing the title. HoYoverse has announced that starting fromSeptember 10, 2025, at 6 AM (UTC +8),the day the 6.0 Nod-Krai update releases, Genshin Impact will no longer be available on the PS Store.
However, it is important to note that the title will still show up in your Account Library, and you can download it from there if need be.

In-Game Purchases Delisting
The second phase of Genshin’s removal from PS4 will include the delisting of any in-game purchases from the PlayStation Store, which will take effect onFebruary 25, 2026, at 6 AM (UTC +8). You should note that you will still be able to claim the items you have purchased before the aforementioned date until the update support ends.
End of Update Support
Lastly, starting fromApril 8, 2026, at 6 AM (UTC +8), HoYoverse will end all support to Genshin Impact on the PlayStation 4. There will be no further updates provided to the game, and all players will have to shift to alternative consoles or resort to PC or Mobile to access the game.
You are also recommended to claim any in-game purchases you have made by this date. If you fail to do so, you will only be able to obtain the items via a PlayStation 5 afterwards.

Bind PS4 Genshin Impact Account to Other Devices to Continue Playing
In case you are not planning to continue playing the title on PS5 once the services for PS4 end, it is important to bind your PlayStation account to an email or a HoYoverse ID so as not to lose out on your progress. Here’s how you’re able to do so:
Apart from this, a prompt to link an email to your PlayStation 4 Genshin account will also show up periodically when you load the game starting fromDecember 17, 2025, at 12 AM (UTC +8). You can also use it to bind your account.
