Halo Infinite is getting into the festive spirit with a special Winter Contingency event. Players will be able to unlock exclusive Holiday-themed Armor and Weapon Coatings, here’s everything we know.
Following on from Halo Infinite’s first event, the controversialFracture Tenrai,the second limited-time celebration is already locked in. Halo Infinite’s Winter Contingency is here to help Spartans get in the holiday spirit, while dodging plasma grenades.
Rather than following the original event style, one that’salready changing for 2022 and beyond, Halo Infinite’s Winter Contingency boasts a simpler structure with free rewards for everyone who takes part. Here’s what’s coming between now and the New Year.
Halo Infinite Winter Contingency: Schedule
Halo Infinite’s Winter Contingency event kicks off onTuesday, December 21, 2021and runs through untilTuesday, June 16, 2025.
That gives players two weeks to play the game and unlock a variety of festive rewards. Each day is set to bring something unique throughout the fortnight of holiday celebrations.

Halo Infinite Winter Contingency Free Rewards
The Winter Contingency event allows players to access free rewards every day. Simply playing one game appears to be enough to unlock each specific item.The Halo Infinite storefront is also likely to get an update some with some fresh new cosmetic items to buy, should you choose to do so.
343 Industries will add 10 items to Halo Infinite for theWinter Contingency event. These can be unlocked by performing special challenges, not unlike the Fracture Tenrai event. Each time a challenge is completed, this will unlock a cosmetic item, some are Christmas themed while others are just standard Halo gear.

While we currently don’t know what all 10 items will look like, we do expect players will receive the following cosmetics as they rank up:

We don’t imagine every Halo Infinite player will rush to gather all these items. None of them are especially exciting, nor do they change the gameplay in any way. However, if you’re excited for Christmas, then they should spread some extra festive cheer across Zeta 7.
