Ever since Ben Affleck parted ways with his role in the DC Universe, fans have been constantly asking for him to return as Batman and bring to life Zack Snyder’s vision. However, James Gunn seems to have other plans that seemingly coexist with the possibility of ideas that even Affleck himself possesses. The actor was highly praised for his role as Bruce Wayne in the franchise.
Gunn’s vision wants to explore Affleck’s directorial experience. The actor has proven his touch in direction to be just as filled with finesse as his acting. His talents lie both in front of the camera and behind. The co-CEO of DC Films also sees that. So to even things out, both are interested in seeing the actor direct a future project for the franchise.

Ben Affleck Could Direct An Upcoming DCU Movie
Ben Affleckhas expressed his interest in still being part of the DCU even if as someone who will purely be behind the camera. He has directed a good chunk of movies in the past and they have all received a lot of praise. His skills as a director have often been appreciated and it was only natural for him to start his own production company with Matt Damon.
“We’re working with Ben Affleck, who really wants to be a part of our architecture team trying to bring things together. And he really wants to direct one of our projects and we’re looking forward to him doing that.”
The DCU slate is massive and presents a huge array of projects that the actor could choose from. Fans have been pointing out how great it would be if Affleck was to directThe Brave and the Boldmovie. It is already confirmed by Gunn that the actor will be directing one project. However, it is yet to be decided which one and whether or not he will be involved in more projects.

His involvement with the DCU proves that he parted ways with his character on mutual terms. Fans are wondering just how well he could bring a new Batman into the picture who is very much a family man, unlike Affleck’s version. His version had been mourning the loss of his child and his partner, Robin. The new version, on the other hand, will explore the Caped Crusader’s relationship with his biological son.
