Avalanche Softwarehas tweeted about the Hogwarts Legacy Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, Dianah Hecat.
Hogwarts Legacyis an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the world introduced in the Harry Potter books. It’s quite easily one of the 2023 most highly-anticipated games. The game takes place at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1800s. Players can create their own Wizard or Witch and explore the magical open world, attend classes, fly on magical creatures, fight casting spells, make potions and much more.
Just like in any RPG open-world game in Hogwarts Legacy players will meet multiple interesting characters, including Hogwarts professors. Today, Developers tweeted about the first and probably the most anticipated professor who teaches Defence Against the Dark Arts. Why is it so important? Well, as we know from the book series, each year Harry Potter and his friends had new teacher. The position of Defence Against the Dark Arts professor at the school was once rumoured to be jinxed, as no one could hold the post for more than a year without suffering an unpleasant fate. Will it be the same with Mrs Dianah Hecat? To answer this question we’ll have to wait till the game realise.

Professor Dianah Hecat
As you can see in the image above Dianah Hecat takes her teaching responsibilities seriously. The most interesting detail, about her, is the similarity of her surname to Hecate. As we know from Greek mythology Hecate was a goddess of witchcraft, night but also a guardian with two torches. So will she be a foe or an ally? I know one thing, since looks can be deceiving, the old lady is probably one of the most powerful witches in Hogwarts Legacy, and I can’t wait to meet her.
From Hogwarts Legacy’s gameplay trailers, we know about only one additional teacher. Professor Fig was revealed to be one of the main characters in the game, but little is known about him. He is described as accomplished yet enigmatic and appears to be one of the players’ most essential companions.
