These are known as Getaways, and there are opportunities to build a network of Getaways starting with the Lagoon Layer.
Donkey Kong Bananza: Getaway Guide
Getaways are built by speaking with Architectone and paying them ingold. Architectones are crystalline NPCs shaped like stereotypical houses. Starting with the Lagoon Layer, you will find them appearing periodically throughout the landscape of every Layer.
At times, the price to build Getaways may seem steep, but gold is easy tofarm, and they eventually provide greater benefits. The perks of building Getaways in a Layer increase as you create more of them. Each Getaway serves as afast-travel point, increasing your maneuverability around the map.
Speak with an Architectone, and when it asks whether to build a Getaway at the current location, confirm the choice. The house-shaped NPC will construct a Getaway there instantly. Enter the Getaway to utilize its amenities and prepare for upcoming adventures.
Each Getaway comes equipped with a bed for DK. Interact with it to sleep andrecover health. Additionally, using the bed will boost DK’s survivability with temporary hit points in the form of bonusyellow hearts. These will take damage first, before your health is reduced. Resting at full health grants bonus hearts, and the number added increases with the number of Getaways unlocked.
Play Music
The first thing to do after arriving at a Getaway is to play some tunes. Interact with the gramophone and select a music disc to play. You can collect Music discs by defeating enemies throughout the game.
Change Outfits
Getaways serve as points to change DK and Pauline’s outfits. Approach the wardrobe and use it to access your inventory of clothes. In addition to their aesthetics, each outfit has bonuses and effects that can give you an edge in combat and exploration.
