The Enhanced Darkdrift Knight (Everdark Sovereign) is easily among the toughest new bosses in Elden Ring Nightreign. Although technically, the Everdark Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow, isn’t as difficult as the Everdark Adel, it still poses a level of difficulty that’s higher than anything in the base game. In terms of challenge, the Enhanced Darkdrift Knight is comparable to the game’s final boss,Night Aspect.
However, there are a few key aspects that give the new Nightlord an edge over its regular counterpart. Firstly, the empowered version of Fulghor has access to a whole newthird phase, complete with new attacks and combos.
And secondly, the boss has significantly more HP, resistance, and base AP. Suffice it to say, defeating the new Nightlord isn’t going to be easy, even withLevel 15 Nightfarers. However, there are ways to make the boss fight significantly easier. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to easily defeat the Enhanced Darkdrift Knight in Elden Ring Nightreign.
Overview of the Enhanced Darkdrift Knight in Elden Ring Nightreign
The Enhanced Darkdrift Knight, much like Everdark Adel, starts the battle in hissecond phase. However, unlike the regular Darkdrift Knight, the enhanced variant is more susceptible to stagger viaLightning. With the right setup of weapons and passive buffs, you may easily deplete more than half of the Nightlord’s health bar before it can even transition to thethird phase.
However, under normal circumstances, the boss switches to histhird phaseat roughly75% of his HP. In the third phase, Fulghor gains a complete arm as well as access to two new, incredibly devastating attacks. The third phase starts with aHoly Greatbowcombo, which is a targeted AOE.
Fulghor follows this AOE attack with a charged jump or arain of arrowscombo. After a short while, the Nightlord will once again rise up in midair andsummon a Twinblade. With the Twinblade, Fulghor performs a 5-hit combo and ends it with a ground slam.
Given that most of Fulghor’s new combos are AOEs, ranged classes work incredibly well against this boss. Lastly, Enhanced Darkdrift Knight also has access to a massive charged AOE, which it can perform twice during any given encounter.
At the start of this charged AOE, Fulghor always marks one of the Nightfarers. To avoid this attack, you need to run away from the boss’s range. Think of this attack asAdel’slightning AOE (second phase). Apart from these few combos, the battle remains mostly identical when compared to the regular Darkdrift Knight.
Weaknesses of the Enhanced Darkdrift Knight
Similar to the regular Darkdrift Knight, Everdark Fulghor is extremely weak toLightning. The boss is also weak toFrost,Fire, andBleed. However, it’s immune toPoisonandRot. That said, even when compared to Frost, Lightning is the best choice against Fulghor. It not only staggers the boss out of its bigger combos but also wears down the Nightlord’s defenses.
The only catch here is that, apart from very few rare Relics andLightning Camps(both of which are RNG-based), there’s no way to guarantee a Lightning weapon in every single run. As such, the second-best alternative to use against the Everdark (and regular) Fulghor isFrost.
While you won’t be able to stagger Fulghor withFrost, you will be able to weaken its defenses and also deal damage over time. As for Nightfarers, the best options against Fulghor areRaider,Wylder,Ironeye,Guardian,Duchess, and evenRevenant.
