Lies of P’s highly anticipated Overture DLC is now available across all platforms. Much likeHi-Fi RushandNinja Gaiden Blackbefore it, Lies of P Overture was shadow-dropped following the recently released gameplay trailer duringSummer Game Fest 2025. Surprisingly enough, the DLC isn’t relegated to a side mission. Instead, taking notes fromElden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, Overture features a whole new map with roughly the same amount of content as the base game.

The expansion comes with a host of new weapons, outfits, and, most importantly, bosses for you to discover and fight. But before you’re able to do so, you need to start the DLC itself. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to start Lies of P’s Overture DLC, including details on its requirements and more.
Requirements for Lies of P Overture DLC
Similar toFromSoftware’sSouls games, Lies of P only allows you to play the DLC after you’ve made a considerable amount of progress in the base game. Essentially, you need to have completedChapter 9to start the expansion. You can also start the expansion on a save where you’ve reached the end and defeated eitherSimon Manusor theNamelessPuppet.
Do note that the same requirements apply toNew Game+saves as well. You need to progress past Chapter 9 to start the DLC. Once you reach Chapter 10 and head back to theKrat Hotel, you will receive an item calledStar’s Chrysalis. Once you have the Star’s Chrysalis, you’re able to start the DLC.
From there, head back to thePath of the Pilgrimto get a new cutscene that teleports you to Overture.
How To Start Lies of P Overture
To start Lies of P Overture, you need to have completed Chapter 9 and defeated theCorrupted Parade Master. Ideally, reaching that point in the story takes roughly 10 to 15 hours. However, if you’re on New Game+, you can speed up the process significantly. Furthermore, you can also turn down the difficulty to get through the base game much faster. Changing the difficulty does not affectachievements or trophies. Additionally, you can change the difficulty anytime during gameplay, as long as you are out of combat.
Do note that changing the difficulty will force you to restart your last checkpoint. However, doing so won’t cost youErgo.
