In a conversation with Whoopi Goldberg featured on Good Morning America, Simone shared her thoughts on life alongside Chadwick and the journey after his passing. Chadwick succumbed to colon cancer in 2020 following a valiant four-year fight.

Chadwick Boseman’s Wife Shares Her Struggles Without Him
Simone Ledward Boseman shared with Goldberg how she encountered an extraordinary individual, a man of immense qualities, who later transformed into a worldwide sensation. The swift ascent to fame happened almost instantaneously, particularly following the release ofBlack Panther. Reflecting on her good fortune, she expressed her disbelief at the serendipity that brought them together. The profound sense of astonishment stemmed from both the privilege of cherishing this remarkable person and the reciprocity of their affection.
“I met this person who is this wonderful man and he then ended up being a global super star, and really after Black Panther came out, it did kind of happen overnight. I can’t believe that I was so lucky. I can’t believe that I got to love this person. And I also got them to love me, too.”
Living without him, Simone Ledward Boseman said, “has been the most challenging two years I’ve ever had in my life.”
Simone described howChadwick Boseman’schoice to battle colon cancer privately coincided with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this period, people were confined to their homes, alleviating any societal expectations to venture outside. A Tough Time After Chadwick Boseman’s Death
Openly, she discussed the various phases of sorrow she has navigated since his passing. There are instances when her struggles surpass her readiness to recognize them, and conversely, there are days when her progress exceeds her inclination to disclose it. The ebb and flow of grief, she emphasized, is a dynamic force.
“Some days I’m doing worse than I’m really willing to acknowledge and other days I’m doing better than I feel comfortable admitting,”she said.“You know, the grief really moves in.”
Last year, Simone received the Golden Globe Award on behalf of Chadwick, recognizing his portrayal in his ultimate film,Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
