Mel Gibson also faced a similar situation when he split up from his wife, Robyn Moore back in 2006 after being married for 26 years. Moore went on to file for a divorce back in 2009 and allegedly walked away with almost $425 million in alimony.

Mel Gibson once opened up about how his marriage went down and revealed that he blamed himself for screwing up things with his wife, Robyn Moore.
Mel Gibson revealed that he screwed up his marriage
Robyn Moore allegedly filed for divorce back in 2009 fromMel Gibsonand their divorce has gone down as the most expensive split in the history of Hollywood so far. Since the couple failed to sign a pre-nuptial agreement before their marriage, Gibson was forced to pay half of everything he has earned while being married to Moore. Therefore, theBraveheartactor paid almost $425 million to his ex-wife.
Once while talking about his divorce onThe Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Mel Gibson revealed that he blamed himself for the split from his ex-wife, Robyn Moore. He said,
“Look, when it’s all said and done, I did a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage myself. I’m to blame. If you’re inclined to judge, put it here.”

After his marriage failed with Moore, the actor tried to find love once again with the Russian songwriter and pianist Oksana Grigorieva but even that did not work in favor of the American actor.

Mel Gibson dated Oksana Grigorieva for almost 2 years before everything fell apart in their relationship. Grigorieva even filed for a restraining order against the actor and accused him of domestic violence against her. The Russian songwriter went on to leak some recordings of Mel Gibson allegedly yelling at her but the actor always claimed that the recordings were fake and they were edited. Gibson once even opened up about the whole incident in an interview with Deadline and said,
“I don’t blame some people for thinking that though, from the garbage they heard on those leaked tapes, which have been edited. You have to put it all in the proper context of being in an irrationally, heated discussion at the height of a breakdown, trying to get out of a really unhealthy relationship. It’s one terribly, awful moment in time, said to one person, in the span of one day and doesn’t represent what I truly believe or how I’ve treated people my entire life.”

However, things eventually did work out in the favor of Mel Gibson as he has been dating the former champion equestrian vaulter, Rosalind Ross since 2014. Ross also gave birth to Gibson’s 9th child, Lars Gerard back in 2017.
