Considering the impressive feat, his appearance in the new film could totally be a game changer. However, he has disheartening news for fans.

The 51-year-old actor, Ke Huy Quan addressed the rumors about him returning to theIndiana Jonesfranchise in the upcoming film,Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

For the unversed, the actor initially rose to fame in the industry by playing the role of Short Round in 1984’sIndiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. The then-12-year-old boy is one of the characters who never returned to the franchise which is why his return would be a big deal. Another important aspect is his big comeback in the industry through the EEAAO film which would mean his appearance would have a significant impact on the film.
However, he told ET that he is not going to make a cameo appearance in the upcoming film.

“I want to say [yes], but no”
While he won’t be appearing in the film, he talked about his reunion withHarrison Fordwhich was a special moment for him.

Though the duo won’t be appearing onscreen together, they already enjoyed their reunion at the 95th Academy Awards which happened last month. The franchise headliner was presenting the Best Picture Award which went to Quan’s trailblazing film. The cast and directors of EEAAO came to the stage and accepted the award while fans saw the co-stars embracing each other.
Referring to that moment, he shared,
“Here’s the thing. I don’t want to disappoint the fans. I’ve joked about it all the time, but reuniting with Harrison after 38 years, that was very special.”
While he won’t be having a cameo in the film, he openly supported his co-star ahead of the film’s release. James Mangold’s directed film will premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival on May 18 ahead of its release in the US on July 07, 2025.
