Margot Robbie, the star of the biggest movie currently, had to lie about this to her family. Before the‘Barbiemania’,the Australian actress, was a part of some celebrated movies includingThe Wolf Of Wall Streetalongside Leonardo DiCaprio. And that is where she played a chick with a thick Brooklyn accent romancing DiCaprio. Now despite knowing the film would contain a bunch of nude scenes and that her family would disapprove, she plunged headfirst into the opportunity of a lifetime. And made the task of explaining everything to her family a problem for her future self.
In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, the actress explained what transpired after her family from rural Queensland witnessed Robbie in the premiere of the movie, and how she handled the situation like a pro.

Margot Robbie Had to Lie to Her Family About the Nude Scenes inThe Wolf of Wall Street
In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on his late-night talk show, theBarbiestar,Margot Robbieback in 2014 revealed her concerns about her family watching her explicit scenes inThe Wolf Of Wall Streetfor the first time. Despite being aware of the content that would be displayed on the screen, she admitted that she hadn’t adequately prepared her family for what they were going to see.
For a very long time, the actress“flat-out lied”to her family, and went a step further reassuring them that no matter what the rumor mill had been churning out, there was no nudity involved in the film. But as the time progressed she knew the lie wasn’t going to stand out on its own, especially after they actually watch the film. She said,
“I just flat-out lied to my family for a really long time and I said, ‘I don’t care what you hear; there’s no nudity; I’m not doing any nudity. Ignore anything anyone’s saying; there’s no nudity,’ ”
Robbie further continued,
“And then I thought, ‘The movie’s going to come out and they’re going to see that there’s nudity,’ so I changed that to ‘It’s actually a body double and they just CGI’d my head onto someone else.’ And my family doesn’t have anything to do with the entertainment industry … and they were like, ‘They can do that? And I was like, ‘Oh, technology these days. You wouldn’t believe what they do in Hollywood!’
Growing up in a rural town in Queensland and the Gold Coast, her family wasn’t entirely at ease with the idea of their daughter appearing nude in front of a crowded theater. Thus, to get her out of a sticky situation, she confessed it was all the magic of CGI. Lacking knowledge about the entertainment industry in general, her family bought it. But in the end, it was a little white lie she didn’t mind telling, to rescue herself from an awkward situation.

Margot Robbie Insisted on Doing the Nude Scenes For the Movie
This role was not just a role for Margot Robbie, this was her ticket to being an A-lister in Hollywood.The Wolf Of Wall Streetserved as a breakthrough movie for the actress, and she was ready to give it her all. In a chat with UK’s Daily Telegraph, the actress revealed why exactly she agreed to participate in the explicit scenes. She said,
“I think nudity for the sake of nudity is shameful. If they’ve put it in just so that a girl gets her top off, then that’s disgusting. And you can always tell,”
Even though the director generously offered to cut some of the elements and tone down the scenes a bit, Robbie refused. She understood the essence of the movie and her character right from the beginning and deemed those scenes an integral part of her character as well as her relationship with Jordan, her husband in the movie. She continued saying,
“But I also think it’s disgusting when someone would have got naked in real life, in the film they conveniently leave their bra on, or hold up the bed sheet. Seeing someone being choreographed into being covered up irritates me just as much. The whole point of [her character] Naomi is that her body is her only form of currency in this world. So when Marty [Scorsese] was trying to help me out, and said in the scene where she seduces Jordan perhaps I could have a robe on, I said she wouldn’t. She has to be naked. She’s laying her cards on the table.”
