In 1994, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis starred in James Cameron’s hit action comedy,True Lies, a story about a normal housewife who is pulled into the world of espionage after she discovers that her seemingly ordinary husband is an international spy. The film became a cult classic mainly due to the pitch-perfect chemistry between the two leading stars.

While audiences and critics worldwide hailed Cameron’s casting choices, Arnold Schwarzenegger was very sceptical about being cast opposite Jamie Lee Curtis and doing intimate scenes with her. Curtis, in an interview, spoke about what transpired and the personal reasons behind theTerminatorstar’s awkwardness, which involved her famous father Tony Curtis.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Was Hesitant To Romance Jamie Lee Curtis InTrue Lies
True Lies directed byJames Cameron, became one of Hollywood’s cult films thanks to its action packed comedy and the entertaining chemistry between the two protagonists Arnold Schwarzenegger andJamie Lee Curtis. While the performances of both stars was praised universally, thePredatoractor had second thoughts about acting opposite Curtis, especially when performing intimate and romantic scenes.
The Oscar winner elaborated on the reason in an interview and said that Schwarzenegger became close friends with her famous father Tony Curtis whom he directed in a film calledChristmas in Connecticut.This family-like connection made it awkward for the Austrian star to think of Jamie Lee Curtis as anything but a family member.

“I just don’t think he thought of me as his leading lady. I think he thought of me as Tony’s little girl. And it was Jim [Cameron] who said, ‘No, I’ve written this for her. She’s the one to do this with you.'”
Ultimately, Schwarzenegger put his uneasiness aside and went on to have a great on screen rapport with theHaunted Mansionstar. Curtis for her part, expressed her gratitude to her co-star for giving her first billing in credits, thereby acknowledging that she was an equal protagonist to him in the film.

Jamie Lee Curtis Lends Her Support To Actors Strike Amid Controversy
The ongoing Actors Strike has galvanized a whole host of A-list stars to extend their support to the Writers Union and the acting fraternity. Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis who is also one among the celebrities to take part in the revolution, was initially criticized for supposedly taking a neutral stand. The star was quoted to have said that she was more like Switzerland in her opinion regarding what was going on and received backlash for not being proactive to the cause. Following these criticisms, Curtis clarified her stance and said,
“I FULLY SUPPORT the @sagaftra strike, have volunteered making signs multiple times and have donated to the relief fund. I SUPPORT the leadership and SUPPORT our demands. I’m a rank-and-file union member. I am not on any negotiating committee.”

TheEverything Everywhere All At Onceactor added that she hoped both sides can come back to the table soon and find a resolution.
