Whenever we talk about stars that are evergreen, which means that they’re so recognizable that if they played a role to such perfection that they can never be replaced, it might bring a couple of names to mind. And among them, the name of Mark Hamill might just be in the top 3 for most people who are fans of pop culture.

Known for portraying the famous Luke Skywalker in the majority of the Star Wars franchise’s main timeline films, he has become inseparable from the character, something that is remarkable in its own right. But due to this, he feels like there are too many attempts with the use of CGI that de-ages him, which he doesn’t like. Therefore, he now wants a successor that will take the identity of his character from him.
Mark Hamill Wants A New Face To Become Luke Skywalker In TheStar WarsFranchise
For almost half a century since the release of the first film in the then soon-to-be iconicStar Warsfranchise, actorMark Hamillhas diligently played the role of Luke Skywalker, the main protagonist of the first original trilogy. And therefore, after the frenzy that spread among the fans of science fiction and pop culture, he became immortal as the Jedi warrior trained by Yoda himself. But as the years went by, so did Hamill’s youth, and today, even the star agrees that he’s become too old to continue with the name of Skywalker.
In a recent interview, theKingsmanstar was talking about his personal life and his career portraying the character of the most important man in such a massive and iconic franchise. Eventually, the conversation came to his return inThe Last Jediin 2017, which brought the end of the character in the main timeline. But later, people were genuinely surprised and happy to see a younger Hamill inThe Mandalorian, made possible through the help of de-aging CGI. But when he was asked what he thought about it, he had a very candid response, which stated:

“It is unusual to see yourself like that. It can’t be cheap. People say, ‘Oh, now you’re going to be able to do a whole series of Luke post-Return of the Jedi.’ I said, ‘I don’t think so.’ First of all, they don’t need to tell those stories, but if they do, they could get an age-appropriate actor,”
Therefore, it’s obvious that the star has made peace with the fact that he just wants to leave it all in the hands of a capable individual and pass on his legacy to the next person who inherits his character’s name to build upon his lifetime’s work.

Will We See Mark Hamill As Luke Skywalker Again?
After the fate that Luke suffered inThe Last Jedi, one thing is certain that he’s dead, and we might never see him in the flesh again, but we still might see him in The Force here and there. As for the younger version of the character, it might be true that there are still places where he might be wanted as his past self, but whether Hamill himself wants to become part of any future or current projects is up to him, and we’ll just have to wait and watch.
