Scarlett Johansson played a key role in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She was one of the first original Avengers characters, and even though she did not make it to the end ofAvengers: Endgame, she remains one of the most popular characters in the franchise. However, despite her popularity it took a decade for her solo film, after which she made her exit from the franchise in 2021.

During the ComicCon 2023, it was announced that Scarlett Johansson joins the cast ofTransformers One.Scarlett Johanssonwould voice Elita in the animated prequel, which has set expectations among the fans of the franchise.

Scarlett Johansson Roasts Marvel After Joining The $5.1 Billion Franchise
Transformers Oneis set to be one of the most highly anticipated animated movies that have made its fans impatiently wait for the film. The film will be focusing on the origin story of the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron on their home planet of Cybertron, narrating how the two characters ended up having different ideologies.
During an exclusive interview with Collider,Scarlett Johanssonhad nothing but praise for Josh Cooley, the writer-director ofTransformers One, and the“texture”of the animated film was something that she never felt while she was a part of the MCU.
“Yes, I’m playing Elita. I’m working with Josh Cooley, who is an incredible writer-director who I adore and have worked creatively with in another capacity. The film doesn’t look like anything I’ve ever seen before, it looks so cool! The texture of it is so awesome.”
“And because Josh wrote it, it just feels very… I don’t know, it’s got a very dramatic feeling about it. It’s funny, but it’s got so much heart to it like all of his stuff does. I think it’s a different way of approaching this IP. I think it stands on its own, it’s pretty exciting.”
The actress’ comments have made the fans more eager to watch the film because Marvel has done a great job withSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verseand the animation in the film was top-notch, hence some fans believe that the upcoming film will match the level of the Miles Morales story.

Transformers Onewill be the newest addition which will be added to the franchise and will act as a prequel to the whole saga, as well as telling the origin stories of Optimus Prime and Megatron, the leaders of the Autobots and the Decepticons. These iconic characters were once brother-in-arms fighting for the same cause, but later they turned enemies.
The expectations have skyrocketed because, after years of teasing the fans in Michael Bay’s films and the animated series, the viewers have seen sneak peeks of their friendship and how Prime talks about Megatron stumbling from his path. All while bringing back iconic characters from the franchise.

While it is difficult to state what to expect from the animated film, fans must wait patiently until the creators decide to launch a teaser trailer, or the first look trailer of the film, setting their expectations accordingly.
