Conan O’Brien is one of the most well-known television hosts of all time. Not only has he worked on late-night talk shows likeLate Night with Conan O’Brien,andThe Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien,for almost 28 years, but he is also a comedian, a writer as well as a producer. Having interviewed every possible person of relevance in mainstream media, many would deem it impossible for him to get starstruck.
This, however, was not the case when O’Brien met Jack Nicholson. He was even more surprised when the legendary actor and filmmaker told him that his son was so obsessed with the television host, that it was starting to get on the Oscar-winner’s nerves.

Conan O’Brien Was Starstruck By Jack Nicholson
Conan O’Brien, shoot an episode for the podcastConan O’Brien Needs A Friend, alongside guest stars, Steve Martin, and Martin Short. Here, the three discussed many different subjects, and eventually, the conversation led to them, talking about a particularly, surprising experience for the former television host. He talked about the time that he was going to a football game with someone when they told him that they had to pick up a friend along the way to the game. Not thinking much of it, O’Brien agreed.
“I get in the car, and I think he said that were picking up a friend, I didn’t hear who he said we were picking up.” He went on, “ we start driving up, and then we start to slow down and there’s someone leaning against a lamppost in, like, a very cinematic way. And we slow down, and it is Jack Nicholson.”
Things quickly changed when the friend in question was revealed after the car stopped in front of a man who was leaning against a lamp pot in the most theatrical way possible. Upon closer inspection, O’Brien realized that this was none other than, Jack Nicholson. Completely shocked and starstruck, the Oscar-winning actor entered the car and watched the entire game with them, all the while O’Brien desperately trying to stay calm, despite swarms of fans surrounding them from every corner.

Jack Nicholson’s Was Irritated By His Son’s Obsession With Conan O’Brien
After the evening ended and Conan O’Brien stopped in front of Jack Nicholson’s house to drop him, he finally gathered the courage to tell the legendary actor that it was an honor for him to meet him. Oddly enough, rather than niceties on this compliment, Nicholson told him about how his son feels about O’Brien.
“We drop Jack Nicholson off and he gets out of the car and I said, ‘It was a great honor to meet you, you know, Jack,’ and he said, ‘ my boy is crazy about you,’”he added“ every morning it’s, Conan this, and Conan that, it’s driving me f*cking crazy’. I had no idea, but I just knew that I was an irritant in his life and that made me very happy.”
The actor revealed that his son was absolutely obsessed with the talk show host. Nicholson added, that he would not stop talking about how much he loves him and would constantly obsess over him. This was so severe, that Nicholson was growing tired and irritated with how passionately his son cared for O’Brien.
