Arnold Schwarzenegger claims his life chapter with ex-wife Maria Shriver will continue forever despite him engaging in an extramarital affair with their housekeeper. In 2021, the ex-couple finalized their divorce, which Shriver filed ten years earlier.
Despite living separate lives, Schwarzenegger makes sure he attends important family events. In fact, he and Shriver enjoy being grandparents to Katherine Schwarzenegger and Christ Pratt’s children.

TerminatorstarArnold Schwarzeneggerhad an interview withPeopleand revealed he and his ex-wife Maria Shriver never left their story. He noted that there was no reason to sever ties because they never fought in the first place. The actor stated:
“We never left the [first] chapter because remember, it’s not like we had a feud. We didn’t have a fight. It’s just my f—k up, right? She said, ‘Okay, this is what it is,’ and then she decided to make a split, so it was her decision. But the fact is, we always made it very clear that the kids should not suffer because of that.”
Schwarzenegger admitted two months prior Shriver filed for divorce that he engaged in an extramarital affair with their housemaid, Mildred Baena, and he fathered a son, Joseph Baena.
Despite the controversy, the family continued celebrating milestones and holidays together with their four children.The Expendablesstar continued:
“So, everything is kind of just as if we’re together, but we have separate lives, and she has her things, her relationship, I have mine, but we always communicate about the kids, about the holidays, about birthday parties, and Mother’s Day parties and Christmas.”
The 76-year-old actor said his story with Shriver will “continue” despite him being in a relationship now with Heather Milligan:
“My chapter with Maria will continue on forever. Even though it’s a different relationship, there’s no reason for me to feel anything other than love for her.”
As for the release of his bookBe Useful: Seven Tools for Life, Schwarzenegger said he wants to help people by sharing the wisdom he has learned from past experiences, including his failed marriage.
He told the outlet: “All I’m trying to do is just try to use my talents and help other people.” The actor also stated small actions like this helped him get to where he is now.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Is Currently Dating Heather Milligan
Even though Arnold Schwarzenegger acknowledges his story withMaria Shriveras far from over, the action star currently pursues a romantic relationship with physical therapist Heather Milligan.
They met in 2012 after the actor’s shoulder surgery. His surgeon recommended Milligan because she had worked with many athletes before. Schwarzenegger shared toPeopletheir first encounter:
“I went to her, and then after my therapy was finished, after I was finished with the movie, I called her back and took her out for lunch to say thank you. And then one thing led to the next. We have so many things in common. Our relationship is fantastic. I think the world of her. I love that she’s into working. She’s clearly independent. She just is driven as hell.”
Even though Schwarzenegger and Shriver are now leading separate lives, they remain civil towards each other and are always present on important occasions.
