Joe Manganiell can be seen essaying the role of Deathstroke in the post-credit scene of the hit DC movieJustice League. His appearance as the supervillain was an instant hit, with fans eager to see him in potential future movies and series. However, his part was left severely altered and shortened after Joss Whedon took over the film.

Furthermore, his part was also shortened due to the cancellation of a separate Deathstroke Vs Batman movie. With James Gunn being in charge, it is difficult to know whether we would ever get to see the masked crusader fighting the supervillain.

Deathstroke is a well-loved character despite being an evil Supervillain. After getting a supersoldier-like ability, he becomes a vicious mercenary with incredible fighting skills and tactical prowess. Shown in the end credit scenes of bothJustice LeagueandZack Snyder’s Justice League,Joe Manganielloseemed like the perfect actor to play Deathstroke.

However, his post-credit scene in the originalJustice Leaguewas unfortunately cut short afterJoss Whedontook the baton from Zack Snyder. Talking about it in an interview with Collider, Manganiello revealed,
“If I was a part of it, it wouldn’t be my place to announce that. That would be Zack’s place. Whether or not that’s happening. That is an answer that’s below my NDA level.”

Furthermore, talking about the original scene, he said,
“On my social media, I talked about there was an original end credits sequence that was altered for the release of Justice League.Once Batman was cancelled, they altered that scene. So, here you go, but I wrote about that on my social media. There’s an original scene that will be restored to what it was originally.”

While we did see the whole post-credit scene in Zack Snyder’s cut ofJustice League, whether Joe Manganiello would return as the incredibly evil Supervillain or not, is hard to know.

Ben Affleck Wanted To Create A Batman Vs Deathstroke Movie
It is public knowledge that prior to the exit ofZack Snyderfrom the DCU,Ben Affleckwas hoping to create a new Batman movie featuring Deathstroke. Wanting to create more nuanced and complex characters, Affleck was all for a Batman Vs Deathstroke movie. Talking about his plans, he had once mentioned,
“There were a number of them that I was kind of exploring. And, the plans were to make interesting, nuanced, complex characters, in particular to the character you mentioned. I kind of feel like either you do – I’m just going to get into my own preference here – but either you do a kind of massive one villain that is so formidable you just can’t imagine how your protagonist is going to be able to overcome it.”
TheGood Will Huntingstar also thought that Deathstroke would match perfectly with the complex and mysterious character of Batman since both are tactical geniuses with expert strategic skills.
