Netflix’sOne Piecebecame a fan-favorite show as soon as it was released. The show was so good that it was on the top of Netflix’s top ten show list for the first few days. It even broke the record for streaming in most countries on the day of its release. The record was previously held byWednesdayandStranger Thingsseason 4.One Piecebecame a blockbuster of 2023.
Every member related to the show did their best, and as a result, Netflix has renewed the show for a second season. After breaking records with manga sales and anime, Eiichiro Oda’s masterpiece broke live-action records. Even though it is an anime adaptation, most of the cast is not familiar with anime. Iñaki Godoy, who plays Monkey D. Luffy, was no match for Emily Rudd when it came to knowing the anime.
Emily Rudd Is A Bigger Anime Fan Than Iñaki Godoy
Emily Rudd portrays Nami in Netflix’sOne Piece Live Action. She and Mackenyu, along with showrunner Matt Owens, are the biggest anime fans on the set. Before the release ofOne Piece Live Action, the Strawhats were seen doing several interviews. In one of those interviews held byCollider Interviews, the cast was asked what anime they have watched apart fromOne Piece.

When it was time for Iñaki Godoy to answer, he said that he had been aOne Piecefan for a long time. Apart from that, he sawChainsaw Man, which he believed was a little too violent. He also watched the first episode ofDemon Slayer, which he loved a lot, and said that he would like to stick to it for a while. Then, the microphone shifted to Emily Rudd.
Being a huge anime fan, Emily Rudd suggested that he should watchJujutsu KaisenandAttack on Titan. Later, she said that she had watchedDemon Slayer, JJK, Tokyo Ghoul, and the list went on. Out of all the anime that she watched,Made in Abyssis her favorite one. WhileEmily Ruddwas busy naming tons of anime, fans noticed that Iñaki Godoy was lagging in that division.

The Cast OfOne PieceHas Different Levels Of Anime Knowledge
Even though Iñaki Godoy’s Luffy is the captain of the Strawhat Pirates, Emily Rudd’s Nami takes the win when it comes to being the biggest anime fan on the set ofOne Piece. Godoy clearly said that he was not that familiar with any other anime apart fromOne Piece. AfterOne Piece, he is giving time to other anime.
The same goes for Taz Skylar. He has watchedTrigon, but that’s it. When Rudd mentionedJujutsu Kaisen, he mistook it for Jiu Jitsu. There is speculation that the show will run for six seasons. For the moment, Mackenyu and Emily Rudd top the list of the biggest anime fans on the set.
