The Eternal Night maps in Marvel Rivals S1 offer something fresh to the fans of the game who have been anticipating an update since its full release. The two out of the three promised maps did not disappoint comic book fans! NetEase’s record suggests that the third map, when released midseason, will also be just as good.

What makes the two released maps,Empire of the Eternal Night: Sanctum SanctorumandEmpire of the Eternal Night: Midtown, so good is that they have a lot of references and Easter Eggs from the Marvel universe.

You may have missed most of them during your playthrough because of how competitive the game is. Don’t worry, though, we are here with a list of all the Easter Eggs that you may have missed in both of these maps. There might be some things that slipped our gaze. If you found them, feel free to mention them in the comments below!

Empire of Eternal Night: Sanctum Sanctorum Easter Eggs in Marvel Rivals

Bats the Talking Dog

Bats is a talking dog who is sadly a ghost. However, the good part is that he can talk! He hangs around in the Sanctum Sanctorum because he is Doctor Strange’s friend. The Seasonal Event in the first phase of S1 revealed that The Sorcerer Supreme even plays with him often.

Well, the little furball is bound to be loyal then! You can see him hanging out near the Sanctum Sanctorum staircase. He won’t talk to just about anybody, though. However, if you go asJeff the Land Shark, they have a cute interaction.

A Nod to Emma Frost

There were manycharacters that were rumored to join the Marvel Rivals rosterafter the end of Season 0. Emma Frost was one of them. If your mind went straight toEmma Frostin the X-Men movies and comics, then you were right. She runs a firm calledFrost Internationalthat has the logo of, you guessed it,a diamond. Since she can turn into a diamond herself, she will be an interesting addition to the Vanguards in Marvel Rivals. You can find this location right outside the Sanctum Sanctorum.

Khonshu in Doctor Strange’s Territory

In Marvel Rivals Season 1, Doctor Strange and Khonshu have a standoff in an ancient board game to decide who shall possess the Darkhold. Don’t worry; neither of them had evil intent; they just wanted it for different reasons. What makes the in-game lore even funnier is that Mr. Knight’s Agency is located right beside the Sanctum Sanctorum. The two are basically neighbors who can’t usually stand each other. This agency is also located in the outside area. Unlike Frost International, you will find it through an alleyway rather than on the main road.

Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown Easter Eggs in Marvel Rivals

Two Iconic Towers in One Frame

Little needs to be explained about both these towers. However, if you are not a big comic book fan, we will walk you through the basics. Both the buildings you see in the background of the frame are not actually on theMidtownConvergence map. However, NetEase still put them there as a cool Easter Egg.

The Oscorp Tower is the business front for Norman Osborn, aka the Green Goblin. It is also home to some cruel genetic experiments on humans and animals, based on what Marvel universe we are talking about.

The Beyond Tower, on the other hand, is related to the Beyond Corporation, which looks forward to privatizing superheroes. Spider-Man (Ben Reilly) is a part of this corporation. TheChasm skin for Spider-Manis also a part of the same universe.

Attorney by Day; Devil by Night

Marvel Rivals has sparked a discussion in the gaming community about how a Daredevil hero would play. Well, it looks like NetEase may be considering the option to include him on the roster.

While flying around Midtown, I found this giant board advertising only the best attorneys at law. The thing about Matt Murdock is that he is “a good lawyer” by day. When night falls, he is the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen whom everybody fears. This is located high up on the road near Baxter Tower. If you are accompanying H.E.R.B.I.E., you can’t miss it.

Another Spider-Man/Daredevil Reference

TheFisk Toweris very close to theAvengers Tower. It is completely missable if you are accompanying H.E.R.B.I.E. because the payload goes through the building, and you wouldn’t notice it unless you turn around after exiting the building.

If you spawn in the Avengers Tower, though, and your enemies have completed two checkpoints, you may come across the Fisk Tower on your way to the payload. He is an antagonist to both Spider-Man and Daredevil. Honestly, I would like to see him join the roster as a bulky-looking brawler-Duelist.

One More Mutant?

“The Dazzler” is a mutant who canonically got her powers in a high school incident during a performance. She is a singer who then used her “light” powers to attract attention to her shows, blending music and light together.

She has often appeared in X-Men comics, and now, we can see her poster inside a destroyed building. She was planning a “world tour” before the Eternal Night fell on New York. Once our heroes have gotten rid of it, we might see her joining the fight. You can come across this poster in the broken building right across from the Baxter Building, on the first floor.

Van Dyne’s Fashion Boutique

The Wasp has always been an alias of the Van Dyne’s. You know, the flying superhero that can also become very tiny on occasions? It turns out that one of Van Dyne’s even has a fashion boutique in NYC! It is named after them, of course.

Another (Un)Friendly Neighborhood Reference

Roxxon Energy is a corrupt energy corporation that often has ulterior motives behind its “public welfare” campaigns. Those who have played Insomniac’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will agree to this. Although the game’s final boss wasThe Tinkerer, one cannot deny that Roxxon was also a main and recurring antagonist.
