How Fans Are Reacting to Brie Larson’sThe MarvelsBecoming a Major Box Office Disappointment
Brie Larsonis one of the most popular faces in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the importance of her character, Carol Danvers, only intensifying afterAvengers: Endgame,as the likes ofRobert Downey Jr.(Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Chris Evans (Captain America) took a back seat.

Despite all the pedigree, Larson failed to attract the masses to buy tickets forThe Marvels, which has now become the lowest-earning installment in MCU history with an opening day domestic collection of $21.3 million – failing to beat a disappointment likeAnt-Man 3. Fans, who have apparently grown apprehensive of watching superhero movies for the sake of it, have indicated both in the theaters and on social media that Marvel isn’t special.
