Brie Larsonis one of the most popular faces in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the importance of her character, Carol Danvers, only intensifying afterAvengers: Endgame,as the likes ofRobert Downey Jr.(Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Chris Evans (Captain America) took a back seat.

Despite all the pedigree, Larson failed to attract the masses to buy tickets forThe Marvels, which has now become the lowest-earning installment in MCU history with an opening day domestic collection of $21.3 million – failing to beat a disappointment likeAnt-Man 3.
