AsMortal Kombat 1, begins to reach the hands of fans, players are already finding combos and moves that are causing opponents to break their controllers. While gamers may be accustomed to the broken and overpowered combos that have appeared in previous games, a recent clip on Twitter/X shows how even the most experienced players have been caught off guard by someMK1combos.

CompetitiveMortal Kombatplayer and streamerMF$layerhas already discovered an absurd sequence that will leave even those accustomed to the series in awe. The broken combo comes from the move set of Raiden, the classic straw hat fighter who manipulates lightning.
Mortal Kombat 1 Player Has Already Found An Absurd Raiden Combo
Mortal Kombat 1has only been available for a few days but that hasn’t stopped the most dedicated of players from putting their lives on hold to go after all the deadly (and irritating) blow sequences on offer in the game. In the clip below MF$layer performs a huge “100%” combo with Raiden, using all of his moves and various tricks such as the participation of the Kameo Fighters in the difficult-to-perform sequence.

The search for combos inMortal Kombatand other fighting games has become a tradition of the gaming community, with more experienced players discovering and then beating combos into newcomers so they can learn and become experienced on their own.

NetherRealm is also aware that combos are a big part of their games and has emphasized the importance of them in all of their projects over the years.Mortal Kombat 1has taken this to the next level with the addition of the Kameo Fighters.
The new mechanic consists of selecting an additional fighter, in the character selection screen to help out during a fight alongside your main fighter. If used correctly, Kameo’s can provide extra damage in a combo sequence of unstoppable blows.
Kameo fighters in combat can also counterattack or interrupt an enemy combo to help you get out of a sticky situation. Although the decision to add the mechanic was initially surrounded by fan uncertainty, the presence of Kameo fighters in combos like Radiens shows how useful they are gameplay-wise.

The Kameo Fighters inMortal Kombat 1also served as a good excuse to add smaller appearances, from fan-favourite characters without complex development involved. From a narrative point of view, it’s not exactly the most logical move to add so many characters at the starting point of the new canon, but if the intention is to enhance the action, it seems to be working.
Whether the new mechanics will work to bring in new players or just keepMK1fresh for old fans is still uncertain. For now, however, the presence of combos like Raiden’s, which achieved 23 hits and completely reset the opponent’s life bar, shows that any player who picks upMK1has to be prepared to deal with broken combos.
This also raises some concern about the balance of the game, where a successful combo ends a fight in less than a minute, and the implications combos featuring Kameos could have in professional championships. It is still up to NetherRealm Studios to comment or correct such elements but we will no doubt continue to see what new combos are possible whenMortal Kombat1 releases to all players.
