Jennifer Garner, who gained critical acclaim with her 2013 film,Dallas Buyers Club, credits her co-starMatthew McConaugheyfor being her savior on the biographical drama’s set. The Mud actor, who won an Oscar for his role as real-life AIDS patient and advocate, Ron Woodroof in the Jean-Marc Vallée-directed film, came to Garner’s rescue, who wanted to quit the movie, because of her newly-bestowed motherhood.

TheElektrastar expressed her ever-lasting love for the actor as she helped her with one of the biggest challenges she faced on the set of the 2013 hit. Graner revealed that she wanted to quit the movie because she couldn’t find time to breast pump for her son, Samuel Garner, who was born shortly before she signed for the role. She recalled:

“My b**bs were freaking out. It was bedtime, and we were doing some scene that was supposed to be light, and I started crying and I was like: ‘I have to quit. I have to go home and be with my kids. I just can’t do this anymore.'”

This was when the gentleman stepped in and saved the actress. She revealed that he declared to the crew,“We’re going to take a minute, I need a minute,”and sent her to the bathroom so she could pump breast milk. Since then, Garner, who shares three children with ex-husband,Ben Affleck, has kept the actor in high regard.

The legal drama film, based on John Grisham’s 1989 best-selling novel of the same name, became a major commercial success and grossed over $152 million worldwide. But, getting that role of defense attorney, Jake Brigance didn’t come easy, and McConaughey had to convince the director, Joel Schumacher for the attorney’s role.

During the discussion of the movie, theDazed and Confusedactor was rather picked up for a minor role as a Klansman. When asked who must take the lead role, McConaughey was extremely straightforward in his approach and conveyed that he would fit perfectly in the role. The director initially laughed but got convinced by theWolf of Wall Streetactor, who lived up to his claim.
