This update was first revealed inWord Crafts Chitchat Podcastwhere Jessie Flower attended the show. She lent her voice to Toph in the animated series, and she shared her experience working in the set.

The live-action reboot will most likely start filming in February. There are no updates on casting yet and Netflix is still looking for its lead. Hopefully, the studio finds a more fitting cast than the previous one.

Avatar:The Last Airbenderwas created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko in 2005. The series tells the journey of Aang, an Airbender who is destined to become the Avatar – someone who can manipulate elements of Earth, Water, Air and Fire.

After the previous Avatar went missing, war broke out in the entire region. and Aang had to stop the conflict by mastering all four elements and fulfilling his destiny.

It’s been quite a while since the hit animation show aired on television but it did gain a sequel throughThe Legend of Korra.Avatarremains one of the most well-loved shows of Nickelodeon’s gallery.

This is not the first time that a studio has attempted to make a live-action film based on theAvatarseries. The show was adapted as a film under the direction of M. Night Shymalan and, whilst the overall visual impact was highly praised, the limited casting and absurd plot were slated and the movie grossed terribly at the box office.

Now that Netflix is attempting to redeem the franchise following the first adaptation, we can only hope that Aang can fulfil his duty as the Last Airbender, and eventually become the Avatar.
