Everything you need to know about Ninja Gaiden 2 Black’s PC port, including its official system requirements, file size, and more.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, the recently released remaster of the original Ninja Gaiden 2, is now available on all current-gen platforms. The announcement of the game came as a surprise to everyone during theXbox Developers Direct 2025. While most fans expected the game to be released later this year, Koei Tecmo surprised players by shadow-dropping the title following the showcase, akin to 2023’s Hi-Fi Rush. Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, unlike past Koei Tecmo games, doesn’t use the studio’s proprietary game engine.

Instead, the remaster is built usingUnreal Engine 5. Although the use of Unreal Engine 5 does translate into jaw-dropping graphical fidelity, it comes at the cost of high system requirements.

Similarly to most modern Unreal Engine 5 games, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black’s PC specifications are quite high. Here’s everything you need to know about Ninja Gaiden 2 Black’s PC system requirements, file size, and more.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black PC System Requirements

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black’s PC port, much like any other Unreal Engine 5 title, is mostly CPU- and VRAM-bound. Although it’s essentially a UE5 port of the original Ninja Gaiden 2, it does ship with support for both ray-traced reflections and global illumination. Thankfully, due to the game’s linear level design, it isn’t particularly heavy on the CPU. As long as you have a modern 6-core/12-thread CPU (or better), you should be able to play the game at 60 fps.

However, that’s taking into account that you have a capable GPU to go with the CPU. In terms of GPU and VRAM, the remaster is quite similar to some of the recent UE5 PC ports, such as Black Myth: Wukong and Silent Hill 2 Remake.

The minimum GPU specification for Ninja Gaiden 2 is aGTX 1060equivalent. However, this is only for the 720p resolution target. If you plan to play the game at 1080p or higher resolutions, you will need a beefier GPU. Furthermore, you will also need at least8 GBof VRAM to play the game at 1080p-60 fps. That said, here are the minimum and recommended system requirements for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black:

Performance Targets

The minimum specification targets 720p-60 fps gameplay, with the use of upscalers. Meanwhile, the recommended specifications target 1080p-60 fps at native resolution or 1440p-60 fps with upscaling. Furthermore, the game comes with support for bothAMD FSR3andNVIDIA DLSS. It should be noted that, at the time of writing this article, the Xbox Game Pass version of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black does not have any DLSS support. However, the game does come with DLSS3 on Steam.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black File Size

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, on PC, requires roughly86 GBof storage space. On consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S), the game comes in at roughly82 GB. Furthermore, for the PC version, Koei Tecmo highly recommends installing the game on an SSD. This isn’t surprising considering the game’s use of UE5. Unreal Engine 5 games usually tend to have large file sizes. For instance, Black Myth: Wukong, another UE5.1 title akin toNinja Gaiden 2, comes in at a whopping130 GBon PC.
