Will Smith’s past two years have been very rough for the actor ever since he slapped Chris Rock publicly at the Oscars 2022. In an attempt to defend his wife Jada Pinkett Smith from insulting jokes, Smith lost control and couldn’t stop himself.

Before this controversy, however, Jada Smith had found herself in another controversy when she was cheating with singer August Alsina while being married to Will Smith. This completely shattered the actor’s heart who had once stated in an interview that no woman would ever cheat on him if he was at the top.

Recalling some high school trauma,Will Smithstated that he had been cheated on when he was 15 years old. The actor thought that no woman would ever cheat on him if he was in the top position wherever he went. This statement broke Smith when his wife Jada Smith publicly admitted to cheating on the actor with singer August Alsina back when she was married to Will Smith.
“I had to dive into why it was so important for me to have number-one movies. And I never would have looked at myself in that way. I was a guy who, when I was fifteen my girlfriend cheated on me, and I decided that if I was number one, no woman would ever cheat on me. All I have to do is make sure that no one’s ever better than me and I’ll have the love that my heart yearns for.”

The actor further continued,
“And I never released that and moved into a mature way of looking at the world and my artistry and love until the failure of After Earth, when I had to accept that it’s not a good source of creation.”

The actor recalled the day his 2013 movieAfter Earthwas bombarded with negative reviews and the day he learned his father had cancer. Smith went on to state that a realization struck him that nothing in this world mattered except true love.

Before his wife cheated on him, Smith had starred alongside his son in the 2013 movie titledAfter Earth.The movie was a massive flop, but on that same day, Smith was given the news that his father had cancer. In the interview, Smith talked about some deep and emotional emptiness of life that he feels can be only satiated with love.
“And that Monday started the new phase of my life, a new concept: Only love is going to fill that hole. you’re able to’t win enough, you can’t have enough money, you can’t succeed enough. There is not enough. The only thing that will ever satiate that existential thirst is love. And I just remember that day I made the shift from wanting to be a winner to wanting to have the most powerful, deep, and beautiful relationships I could possibly have.”
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have been married since 1997 and both face the ups and downs of their marriage together along with their children.
