Jujutsu Kaisen has been dominating not only the world of anime and manga but fans, whether familiar with Gege Akutami’s work or not, would know of the series. The characters have globalized themselves in an exceptional level, to a point where the entire world is seeing glimpses of Gojo Satoru even if they don’t care for him. Such is the effect of a story dearly loved by fans.

When it comes to storytelling, there are aspects that the writer shows in which even fans find themselves. Well, amazed or confused. The latest events that have been ongoing in the anime include the Shibuya arc or the Shibuya Incident. Whereas the manga is seeing Itadori Yuji finally coming face first with his biggest foe, Sukuna; and as it goes, foreshadowing is nothing Akutami’s work is short of.

Warning: This article includes spoilers going further into the manga and ahead of the events of the Shibuya arc.

Mastery of Foreshadowing in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2

Jujutsu Kaisen is no stranger to foreshadowing events. Whether it is MAPPA Studios’ visual methods or Gege Akutami’s storytelling, there are always events of pictures drawn in the most interesting manner possible. These are so unique because once looking back into the story, one would wonder how things had never been noticed by the fans in the first place.

The second opening for season 2 and the opening for the Shibuya arc is filled with foreshadowing manga fans went berserk over. This includes not only Nanami’s fate but also Nobara’s. Some might think of it to be too much, while others enjoy these little easter eggs dropped. Even Mahoraga’s involvement has been hinted at in the opening itself. However, it wasn’t just the opening that hinted at forthcoming events of the series, but even the poster of the Shibuya arc had one of the biggest spoilers.

Megumi’s Twisted Fate

The Shibuya arc poster is a thing of beauty no doubt. The poster is divided into two sides with Itadori Yuji at the center of it. A purple theme masks it all. However, it is split into the side of the villains and the heroes. The heroes stand below Itadori while the villains stand above. What may stand out as peculiar for only anime fans is why Megumi is standing with the villains, but the manga fans know.

Megumi is Sukuna’s new host, and it would seem that the King of Curses had always set his sights on Toji Fushiguro’s son for that very purpose. The placement of Megumi in the villain’s side is clearly intention. Not only does his sister die while Sukuna is in his body but so does Gojo. While Megumi himself may not be a villain, but much like Geto, he is being used as one.
