Netflix’sOne Piece Live-Actionseries boasts a strong cast that consists of young and experienced actors. While some of their ages can be guessed, most of them will come as a surprise to fans. Make-up, acting skills, and even visual effects can be deceptive.

Another surprising fact is that the producers are considering a ‘six-year plan’ for theOne Piece Live-Action. Deadline reported that the series is expected to continue the hit anime adaptation of the 1430+ page manga in 12 Seasons, following an interview with executive producers of Tomorrow Studios, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements.

This means that the main cast of the live-action series will need to reprise their roles for years to come. Given that the One Piece anime is a coming-of-age story of Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Nami, and Usopp, the same will be mirrored by the Netflix series, thus adding to the realism.
Ages of all the actors in the One Piece Live-Action
Iñaki Godoy, who plays the role of Monkey D.Luffy, is the heart and soul of theOne Piece Live-Action.Most of the narrative is from Luffy’s perspective and his aim to capture the titular treasure. As such, Netflix needed someone who could portray Luffy’s cheerfulness and youthfulness over the course of 12 Seasons and there is no question why he is the youngest member of the cast.
Season 1featured some of the oldest characters from the lore such as Admiral Garp and Zeff. In the manga, Red-Legged Zeff is younger than Monkey D.Garp. The opposite is the case when it comes to the live-action. The most resembling age of an actor with that of his character are Steven Ward’s (42) portrayal of Dracule Mihawk (43) and Peter Gadiot (38) and the character of Shanks (39).

Below is a list of the ages of all the actors in theOne Piece Live-Actionseries.

Iñaki Godoy showered praise on the years of hard work of Eiichiro Oda
Godoy has been vocal about his support for theOne Pieceand is a huge fan of the same. Apparently, he thought it would be a good idea to dodge the most difficult question of “who is the most powerful member of the Straw Hat Crew?” by taking the name of ‘God’ Usopp.
The 20-year-old actor also praised Eiichiro for the 20 years of hard work he put into his best-selling manga. Upon being asked about the pressure of delivering with the role of Monkey D.Luffy, Godoy replied toGamesRadar:

“Of course there was a lot of pressure. There is a big responsibility to honor the work of more than 20 years of a man, you know? He’s been writing this since he was 17. Not only just honor Mr. Oda, but honor the anime too. Mayumi Tanaka, she has been performing this character for so long.”
Mayumi Tanka voiced Luffy in the Japanese version of the anime. Despite the amount of pressure, it is safe to say Iñaki Godoy has delivered with his acting.
