Pedro Pascal joined Disney+The Mandalorianback in 2019 as part of the streaming platform’s flagship shows. After three seasons, the actor has now demonstrated his passion for the franchise after contributing several inputs to the script which truly improved the story.

The Mandalorian

As his character as the Mandalorian notably hides within a helmet, it is a huge event in the show whenever he removes it. At this point, he has only taken it off four times. There is a rule that he cannot lift his mask off as a sign of devotion to the creed, although in some cases, he has to violate his vow.

Pedro Pascal Reveals Why He Opposed Removing The Helmet In Season 2

One ofPedro Pascal’s Din Djarin’s defining characteristics is his strict loyalty to the Mandalorian creed, though many times he had removed it because instances called for it: in front of an injured droid, a life-or-death circumstance, and when he said goodbye to Grogu.

Speaking withVariety, the actor shared that he opposed a scene in the script where the Mandalorian would take off his helmet. He suggested to keep it on:

Disney+ The Mandalorian

“There was actually a version of an episode in Season 2 where he takes his helmet off in the beginning of the episode and is in a different kind of costume and we had a conversation, and I was like; ‘I think we should hold it’ and they were like, ‘Are you crazy?’”

Pascal remarked that he would rather see the show become successful and tell its story in the best possible way than adjust for the human need to show his face. He continued:

“I really think it should come when the stakes feel the highest. I would much rather the show work than betray that for the human need to be seen.”

His dedication to the role shows that Pascal has a deep understanding of his character and the series’ lore. In the end, his decision to hold the helmet until the stakes are high certainly paid off.

Jon Favreau Has Finished Script ForThe MandalorianSeason 4

BeforeThe Mandalorian’s third season aired in March, showrunnerJon Favreauconfirmed he has finished the script for the fourth installment. He also noted that he started drafting it during post-production of Season 3 to make sure there’s continuity viaBFMTV Inside:

“Season 4? Yeah, I’ve written it already. We have to know where we are going to tell a fully formed story. So, we had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I. And then slowly you just write each episode. So, I was writing it during post-production, because all of it has to feel like a continuation and one full story.”

It seems that Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, together with Lucasfilm, plan to continue the franchise as long as the series maintains its outstanding performance. At this point, there is no confirmed release date for Season 4. All three installments ofThe Mandalorianare currently streaming on Disney+.
