Pokemon Go May Community Day: Swablu, schedule & how to prepare
Niantic laid the foundations for their Pokemon Go May Community Day with theLuminous Legends Xannouncement, and have now confirmed that Swablu will be the next Headliner.
On April 26, the developers of the mobile game – available on both iOS and Android devices – confirmed some important details for this month’s event. The start date and time was announced, and now the final few details have been uncovered.
A quartet of headliner Pokemon have been announced in 2021, including Machop, Roselia, Fletchling, and Snivy, and it’s now been revealed that Swablu will be joining that lineup.

When’s the next Community Day in Pokemon Go?
Pokemon Go players can look forward to a Community Day event going live onMay 15, 2021.
These events are local time, so no matter where you’re playing the game you may enjoy the new contentfrom 11AM to 5PM.
How to prepare for Community Days
What to collect
There’s a number of things Pokemon trainers can do to prepare for these, and our tips are full of the essentials.
Exclusive move
Trainers who evolve Swablu during or up to two hours after the May Community Day event will get an Altaria that knows the exclusive moveMoonblast, a powerful Fairy-type attack.
You’ll need 400 Candy to evolve Swablu into Altaria, so you’ll have to catch loads and use Pinap Berries to get double Candy – but it’s definitely worth it as Altaria is one of the best Pokemon for theGo Battle Great League.
Swablu leads the May 15 Community Day
After being discovered by PokeMiners in April, it’s now been confirmed by Niantic that Swablu will be the Headliner for the Community Day taking place on June 09, 2025.

Swablu will be appearing more frequently in the wild during the event, and lucky trainers might even stumble across a Shiny Swablu.
As soon as the Community Day ends, Mega Altaria will begin appearing in Mega Raids, meaning trainers will be able to get their hands on that all-important Mega Energy to Mega-Evolve their own Altaria.
Catch rate and Shiny Odds
For Pokemon Go Community Day events, the catch rate of the featured Pokemon will be increased for a period of time – and so too will the Shiny catch rate.
Shiny Pokemon are very rare in-game, though many trainers have credited Community Days in the past for their successful encounters.
