An honest MCU fan would know how theAvengersteam is incomplete without the Black Widow, featuring BAFTA-award winner Scarlett Johansson. The assassin-turned-Avenger made her MCU debut in 2008’sIron Manand was a constant in seven following Marvel features. Moreover, she also got her landed her titular feature film,Black Widowas Natasha Romanoff a.k.a. The Black Widow.

Sadly, the 2021 Marvel movie turned out to be her final film with MCU, after the superhero sacrificed herself for Thanos’ soul stone inAvengers: Endgame.Apparently, when within the franchise, Johansson remained underappreciated by the media as compared to her co-stars. Yet, the fans are not willing to turn a blind eye to the matter and expressed their support on social media.

Scarlett Johansson faces double standards
A snippet from an interview is going viral onYouTubethat showcased Robert Downey Jr. andScarlett Johanssonpromoting one of their Marvel movies. A particular question by the interviewer seemingly left the American actress offended. Johansson identified the gender bias in the questions thrown at her and RDJ.
The 28-year-old actress was asked if she had to follow a special diet to get into shape for Black Widow. Her vivid expressions painted the picture of her response. Although, Iron Man came to the rescue as RDJ took a stand for his co-star. Johansson responded saying,

“How come you get the really interesting, like, existential question and I get the, like, rabbit-food question?”
Bound to respond, Johansson retorted with a casual, uninterested answer. She said,

“Yes…surely…You’re training, doing all that stunt work and you eat a lot of green things.”
Likewise, the fans empathized with Johansson’s viewpoint and flooded the comments expressing support for her work in the Marvel movies.

Marvel fans come to the rescue
Despite giving flawless performances in the many Marvel movies, fromIron Man 2toAvengers: Endgame,Johansson was mostly the second pick. Besides, more of the public attention was fixated on her looks and form, rather than her impeccable action and acting. Fans felt sorry for the actress and shared little notes of appreciation and acknowledgment for the popular New Yorker.
Here are some of the reactions from fans:
She looks sad or disappointed.
I think Scarlett is perfect in her role. I don’t understand why people don’t recognize her talent and skills.
I mean this is just sad for scarlett, why?
I WANT TO GIVE HER A HUG POOR SCARLETT

I think the reporter could ask Scarlett about her stunts or if he has ever got hurt during the fights. Did she get any physical training for the fights? Or maybe ask some psychoanalytic questions about Black Widow or would viewers see more of Black Widow past or maybe a movie based on her.
I can’t tolerate disrespect of Scarlett Jo
While it seemed like a final goodbye for Black Widow, word has spread that the super-spy is set to return to the MCU, probably forAvengers: Secret Wars.Regardless, Johansson herself seemed pretty satisfied with Black Widow’s ending, perPeople. A recent interview withToday Showrevealed that the actress plans to return only as a zombie if she does. Otherwise, Natasha’s sacrifice would lose meaning, she claimed.
Fans won’t be disappointed to see Black Widow return to the big screen, given the titular filmwasn’t a blockbuster hit. Guess we will just have to wait and watch!
