Director Steven Soderbergh’s 1998 movie,Out of Sightlaunched the careers of the stars of the movie, George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez. The film was a commercial success and received praise from audiences all over the world. Its blend of humor, romance, and crime elements and stylish visual presentation helped it become one of the best crime drama films released in the late 1990s.

“Jennifer and George couldn’t stand each other during filming. This was her first starring role and she’s a hard worker and didn’t appreciate his goofball behavior. She thinks George is a pompous jerk.”
Jennifer Lopez is well-known for her dedication to her career, giving her the title of workaholic. Since the release ofOut of Sight, Lopez went on to become one of the best artists in the entertainment industry.

George Clooney praised Jennifer Lopez’s work in the movie
It seems like the harsh feelings are only one-sided as George Clooney has always said positive things about Lopez in his interviews. In a 2020 interview with Just Jared, Clooney said,
“You know, you believe every minute when she picked up a gun, she might pull the trigger and blow your head off, and she was really good. She was wonderful in the film, and it’s funny because she’s had an amazing career, and gone on to do so many things, and sort of be an all-around entertainer, but I think if you look back, that’s a performance. That really stands out for her.”
Out of Sightwas not a flop as it grossed over $77 million worldwide against its budget of $48 million. The movie also left a lasting impact on the crime film genre.

George Clooney and Ben Affleck are good friends
It’s been over 20 years since the release ofOut of Sightand it seems like Lopez is still not over it. George Clooney and Lopez’s husband, actor Ben Affleck, are good friends and have hit the carpet together on multiple occasions.
It is to be noted that Lopez has never accompanied her husband on the red carpet when Clooney and his wife, Amal Clooney are around.
