Starfieldis one of the most anticipated games of the year and as of today is finally available to the masses, or at least those with an Xbox Series X/S or a gaming PC. The game is the latest by storied developer Bethesda, who have made other similar open world role playing games (RPGs) such asThe Elder Scrolls V: SkyrimandFallout 4,both of which are highly popular to this day.

Since it is set in outer space and the wider galaxy,Starfieldwill naturally require players to spend a lot of time in a spaceship to traverse these open world or worlds. So it makes sense that players will want to look at which spaceships to buy, and while this can be a subjective matter given that playstyles vary, there are some parameters which allow for players to make better decisions. Combat is one such important parameter, asStarfieldwill require players to enter combat at some stage in a ship. One such ship is the famous Abyss Trekker, which has high combat specs but has its negatives too.
What is the Abyss Trekker’s drawbacks in Starfield?
For starters, the Abyss Trekker costs a whopping 345,000 credits, making it impossible to buy early on inStarfieldand even in the middle for most players. Even once players are richer and more experienced, this price tag could be a massive turn off, since many would rather spend the money elsewhere in the game. Apart from the large expenses, the Abyss Trekker also has inadequate cargo space, so players will need to plan around that as well.

On the flip side, the ship’s combat capabilities are amazing, with it also having a powerful hull and a strong shield to boot, and making this ship the preferred choice for some players in light of that. But it’s far from the only ship to recommend inStarfield.
Which ship should players choose instead?
The Renegade, either in its standard form or Renegade II or even III, is a ship renowned for its all-round capabilities, which make it easy to recommend, especially since it can cater to several different playstyles inStarfieldat the same time. In spite of having quite a sizeable cargo hold, the ship is surprisingly fast and can handle combat well too, with particular mention to how it can fend off several enemy ships at once. That makes it an ideal ship to have towards the end of the game when players might have a lot of resources that need protection.

There are a couple of negatives though, the first of which is the price which comes in at a minimum of 300000 credits but it can to almost 450000 credits if players are lucky enough to find the Renegade III. That brings us to the second problem, which is that there is no fixed location for the ship in the game,since there are reports ranging from New Atlantis to Neon to Paradiso and beyond.
Ultimately, the ship players choose inStarfieldshould reflect their needs and playstyles.
