Art is the expression of the artist that envisions it and brings it to life, which is an apt way of describing the art of cinema. The director is the artist, who with the help of actors and the rest of the crew, brings moving art to life on a screen. Among them, Quentin Tarantino is regarded as one of the best filmmaking talents the world has ever seen.

And that reverence has been justified countless times in the past with almost all of his films receiving critical acclaim of the highest caliber from critics and the audience alike. Therefore, to keep his reputation as pristine as ever, he has to make sure that every single star he works with is capable of holding themselves, even if he has to convince them with everything he’s got.
Quentin Tarantino Went Far And Beyond To Cast Uma Thurman InPulp Fiction
Known as one of the premier filmmakers of the Hollywood industry in the modern age,Quentin Tarantinois loved and revered for his larger-than-life, yet detailed and concise stories that he brings to the big screen with a hint of groundedness to it. But before he was this renowned for his talents, he was fairly new to the industry and had to make a name for himself. So, he went ahead and madePulp Fiction, one of the most iconic pieces of cinema in history.
And to bring the absolute best of the best in his project, he had to go through an extensive casting process to truly make his film stand out to the audience. Here, he also revealed that it was in this film that he wrote his most interesting character, which was Mia Wallace. In a past interview, theDjango Unchaineddirector said that the character was a mystery to even himself, which made it all the more intriguing to create. He said:

“Because I have no idea where she came from. I have no idea whatsoever. She’s not from another movie, she’s not somebody I know, she’s not a fantasy girl, she’s not really a part of me, she’s not a side of me,” Tarantino said. “I knew when I was writing that story, I knew nothing more about Mia than Vincent did. All I knew were the rumors. I didn’t know who she was at all, until they got to Jack Rabbit Slim’s and she opened her mouth. Then all of a sudden this character emerged with her own rhythm of speech. I don’t know where she came from and that’s why I love her,”
And thus, to see the character being brought to life and done justice, Tarantino had no one butUma Thurmanon his mind to be cast as the Drug Kingpin’s wife. Therefore, he went ahead to personally convince her, talking to her for hours on end and trying to make her understand the beauty of the character. Finally, the actress agreed, and the rest is history.

What WasPulp FictionAbout?
Its no surprise thatPulp Fictionwas the film that put Tarantino on a pedestal that he rightfully deserved, as this was one of the most well-written movies ever made. There are a lot of stories that eventually interlock as the film goes on, and none of them fails to instill a sense of intrigue at any level. The film follows the story of the dark underworld of Los Angeles, where two hitmen, a gangster’s wife, a boxer, and two mobsters have their lives intertwined with each other through events that transpire as a result of their actions and decisions.
