She faced strong backlash because she was in a relationship with herTwilightcostar. But later, the actress publically apologized to Pattinson, saying that it “jeopardized the most important thing in her life” (as reported byPeople):
“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”
The scandal became so well known in the industry that even Donald Trump (a reality television star before he was president) shared thoughts on their relationship.

“She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again—just watch.” Besides this, she faced a lot of backlash from fans, which also impacted her acting career.

Undoubtedly, Kristen Stewart’s cheating scandal affected her career. That is a reason she missed out on the sequel toSnow White and the Huntsman,” titledThe Huntsman: Winter’s War(released in 2016).
She believed the cheating scandal with the first film’s director, Rupert Sanders, was likely why she wasn’t asked for the sequel. The Hollywood actress whined the same onThe Howard Stern Show(reported byThe Independent):
“We lived in a different time then. You know what I mean? I feel like the s**t-shaming that went down was so absurd.”
She continued:
“And they should’ve put me in that movie! It would’ve been better. Not to be a d**k, but … they didn’t put me in that movie because I went through such a highly publicized scandal, and so they were, like, scared of touching that.”
But the real reason was that her role as Snow White was already written out of the sequel—The Huntsman: Winter’s War, and the film instead focused on Chris Hemsworth’s Huntsman character.
