In a report fromEntertainment Identifier Registry,VelmaSeason 2 is now being developed at HBO Max and Warner Bros. headquarters. The list showed the sequel will consist of 11 episodes. Only a few days passed since the pilot episode aired, yet fans started bombing the series on social media and even on Rotten Tomatoes.
There have been positive reviews amidst the hate on the show, some commending specific scenes, and dialogues. Others who provided negative remarks pointed out issues with the plot itself. The show generally carried a truckload of negative impressions since the studio announced its existence.
Most of the toxicity in the reviews focused on the alteration of Velma’s ethnicity as the studio turned her into a brown Asian with Mindy Kaling as the voice actor. The campaign against the show has brought too much negativity to the image of the series.
Despite the intense aversion, some fans are still eager to watch theScooby-Doospin-off. It also seems that the studio is aware of the audience bombing the show, and they have addressed this before.
