After their time together at the MTV Movie Awards,Jennifer Lopezbecame good friends with Tom Cruise and his then-wifeKatie Holmes. When the news of the iconic duo hit Hollywood, everyone was left shocked and surprised. Even theLet’s Get Loudsinger was heartbroken since she too had gone through a divorce just a few months back. In an interview, she revealed how sad she was to see her friends breaking up.
“I’m sad for them. They’re both really lovely people, and just like Marc and I, it’s not what you want to happen. You fight and you try and you try until you realize you may’t anymore.”
While she did reveal that she hadn’t contactedTom Cruiseor Katie Holmes, she still felt extremely sad nonetheless. Adding on she stated,
“I heard about it when I was in South America and I was stunned.”
Lopez also added that ever since she got the news, it was all she was thinking of. Her own experience from her painful divorce fromMarc Anthonymade her even more sympathetic to think about what her friends might be going through.

Jennifer Lopez Wished Peace To Cruise And Holmes After Split
Real friends in the showbiz are rarely seen. And there is often news of some contention or the other among fellow stars. To have a friend and well-wisher like Jennifer Lopez is thus very fortunate for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Post the duo’s split, Lopez expressed how she wished everything would be alright between the two after their split and expressed her concerns for Cruise’s children as well.
“You know I just wish them peace in their decision. And really for Suri and their other children as well, because you become such a family. It’s not just Suri, it’s Connor and Isabella and everybody; you all become a family. And when that breaks apart, nobody wins; everybody’s heartbroken in some way. And I just wish them peace.”
While Holmes and Cruise have since drifted farther apart and even the couple’s only child Suri has since been estranged from her father, Lopez’s sympathy at that time was much appreciated.
