Chris Rock recently revealed that the slap he received from Will Smith was due to a completely different reason than everyone was thinking of. Though the unsavory joke triggered the whole pent-up situation from the Smiths, it partly had nothing to do with his joke that was directed toward Jada Pinkett Smith.

It was also a well-known fact that Jada Pinkett Smith had an affair with her son, Jaden Smith’s friend and the couple openly discussed the matter previously which might have set Will Smith on the wrong track as he was called names due to the incident. After the incident occurred at the Oscars, Will Smith was banned from any upcoming Academy Awards for the next decade and as compensation to Chris Rock, he was asked to host the next Oscars, which he rejected.
