In the casting process for Matt Reeves’s 2022 filmThe Batman,Nicholas Houltfound himself in the running for the coveted role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Alongside fellow British actor Robert Pattinson, Hoult participated in screen tests while donning the iconic Batman costume. Reports suggest that both actors had deals in place, awaiting the final contingency to determine the casting outcome. Ultimately, Robert Pattinson landed the role, donning Batman’s cape.

Nicholas Hoult Also Lost The Role Of Superman

Nicholas Hoult was paired with Rachel Brosnahan, Tom Brittney with Phoebe Dynevor, and David Corenswet with Emma Mackey for screen tests in the search for the new Superman and Lois Lane. In his portrayal of Clark Kent, Hoult had the opportunity to shoot several scenes while donning the character’s signature costume and makeup.
While Nicholas Hoult may not have secured the role of Clark Kent/Superman, as it went to David Corenswet, there is still potential for him to make his mark in the DCU.
