Twitch streamer xQc wasn’t impressed by Playboi Carti’s new album I AM MUSIC. The streamer criticized it for using too many “ad-libs.”
Twitch and Kick streamer Felix “xQc” wasn’t particularly impressed with Playboi Carti’s latest album,I AM MUSIC. For those unaware, this is Carti’s third full-length album and his first since 2020’sWhole Lotta Red. Despite the apparent excitement surrounding the album’s release, particularly within the streaming community, xQc remained quite skeptical of the project. The streamer listened to a couple of songs from the album during his latest livestream (July 15, 2025).
The Kick streamer wasn’t particularly excited about Carti’s project. He seemingly criticized some of the songs for having too many ad-libs. He said the following:
“It’s repetitive, it’s oversaturated, it’s uninspired, it’s a copy of a whole lot of Reds, overloaded with full of edgy metallic sounds and bullsh*t ad-libs and fake lyrics that mix with the ad-libs make you think, ‘Wait, was that a lyric, was it an ad-lib, was that onomatopoeia?’ It’s probably all at the same time.”
After listening to another song, he added:
“This is sht. This is actual sht. (After listening to another track) I’m done. I’m over it. I don’t give a fk. Yeah, Carti fans are dog sh*t. I don’t care. Everything is half a, it’s insane. It’s the same flow and lyric as Carnival, even though this is way later on. He tries to make a high production, better sound than usual, cool. It’s almost unfinished.”
xQc Provides His Ratings for the Songs in Playboi Carti’s I AM MUSIC Album
xQc was not impressed by Playboi Carti’s latest album, I AM MUSIC. The streamer listened to most of the songs on the album and rated each one individually. While he found most of the tracks underwhelming, one song—Rather Lie—stood out and impressed him. He reacted:
“When he does a song with the Weeknd, it’s almost like he doesn’t wanna fail his father. He locks in. Which is good. He should do it more often because he locked in when his dad is around.”
The streamer created a full rating system and averaged the album to a 5.3 out of 10. His highest-rated song fromI AM MUSICwasWe Need All the Vibes, ” for which he scored a 9/10. Meanwhile, his lowest-rated track wasOMP BABI, which he described as a 2.4. He added:
“Because of the quality of the production, and because of the genre of the music, usually, in my opinion, it serves him a 3. If you add that in and if you remove 3 outta this, it is genuinely a 2.3 out of 10. If it was a new artist and it didn’t have that level of production, it’s a 2, sorry.”
